Easy No- Bake Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Oats Cookies- otherwise known as HURRICANE COOKIES. Do you remember when Hurricane Irene was coming up the Coast? Well I kind of panicked about our food situation. What were we going to eat if we lost power for days??? | | | | | | | | | | | | Okay, I have to calm down, let's check my emergency list here.
- Flashlights, check.
- Batteries, check.
- Candles, check.
- Charge IPod, check.
- Charge Kindle,check.
- Water, check.
- Hurricane Cookies, check, check, check!!! So I figured, if we lose power, I'll have these made and we should be fully sustained through dinner!

Thank you so much for this recipe and for sharing on Thursday's Treasures!
Living in Florida..I need an emergency cookie recipe! Have you made it using reconstituted dry milk? I don't think it will change it a bit. <3 and Hugs!
Hi Debi,
I love your Thursday's Treasure's, so many great recipes! I can see why RD milk would be great for Florida hurricane's. I will give it a try next time I make the cookies, should be yummy as well. Thanks for having me aboard.

I have made a cookie like this before but love the name that is on them
Hi Shopannies,
Thanks! It just seemed fitting. I checked out your blog, wow! Mom of 6, lucky kids to have such a talented Mom like you. Since we experience a lot of weather here in Maine, I always have the items for this yummy cookie.
Take care,
Nettie
I'm always scared of burning sugar, but these look worth plowing through the fear! Wish I'd had this recipe on hand last time my oven broke.
Hi Abby-
If you have your heat on medium, your sugar shouldn't burn, boil for 1 minute. I have boiled for longer and it didn't burn , but the cookies were too dry. Hope you like this recipe!
